Pilot study completed on rope training machines

A Biomechanics laboratory within Oklahoma University in the US has completed a pilot study involving Marpo Kinetic's rope training machines and their effectiveness when related to burning calories.

The results found that an average person running on a treadmill was able to burn about 300 calories in 30 minutes.

However, with Marpo Kinetic's machines, over the same time period, an additional 120 calories were burnt, meaning 420 calories in total were expended.

When users were asked about their experience with the rope trainers, the key was found to be in the resistance system, as it constantly adjusts to the users' pulling power.

Conducted in December 2009 and February 2010, a total of 12 people (seven males and five females) were used in the pilot study, ranging in age from 21 to 41 years-old.
